The First Month

Nathan and I went to MOPs on Friday and the guest speaker said when you have young kids the days are a lifetime and the years are a day.  How true is that!  I can not believe that Nathan is a 1 month old already.  When I was pregnant with him it seemed like I was waiting forever for the months to pass by.  How has the first month of his life already behind us?  Yet when I am awake at 4:30am feeding him I wonder if the minutes could go any slower and wonder if I'll ever get a good night sleep again.

Anyway, enough about me.  Surely you did not come to this blog to read about me.  It is all about the baby now.  :)

Nathan is 1 month old today!

According to our kitchen scale he is about 8.5 pounds with a diaper on and 22.5 inches long.  Clearly he is eating well!  In the last couple of days he started smiling and everyday he gets closer to loosing his floppy head.

He has proven to be a great night time sleeper and Bill's chest is his preferred location for falling asleep at night.  Most nights he'll sleep in at least one 5 hour stretch.  And some nights the 5 hour stretch will be followed by a 4 hour stretch.

This weekend he took his first bottle with no complaints.  Sometimes he likes his pacifier.

In his first month he has been on a number of outings.  Besides multiple trips to the Target and Starbucks down the street, Nathan has been to Stockton once to see Marina's puppies and Santa Cruz twice to watch Bill play soccer.  He has also had a couple of routine trips to the doctor's office and many visits from friends.

To celebrate his 1 month milestone, Nathan took several naps (one was 2.5 hours long and is his longest nap to date), took a bath, spent quality time in my lap, played on his mat, and visited with Ruthann.  Here are a few photos from his day.  You can see more pictures of his first month here.

P.S. Thanks Kristy for helping me make my month markers!

P.S.S. Thanks Natalie for the adorable blue striped onesie.
