Car Update

My car was found.  The San Jose police pulled the car over at 3am two weekends ago because it had no plates.  Clearly the thieves were not the sharpest tools in the shed.  Any half way intelligent person knows that nothing good can be happening in a car without plates at 3 in the morning.  It turns out the occupants had a gun and drugs with them.  So off to jail they went.

The inside of the car was filled with the thieves sweatshirts, a makeup bag, hats, cigarettes, and gangster rap music.  Of course my car seat, Bob stroller, running shoes, and sweatshirt were gone.  In some sort of attempt to cover up the smells (probably the smell of pot or whatever drugs they had) of the car they hung a "new car scent" air freshener.  I am sure you can imagine what that left the car smelling like - tabacco and cheap air fresher!  Needless to say the first thing we did was get the inside detailed.

Turns out they drove the car pretty hard.  The transmission is trashed.  Insurance is paying to get it replaced.  We are on the fence about keeping it.  On the one hand it feels a little funky to keep a car that someone did who knows what in.  On the other hand we just bought a new house and I want a new kitchen.  We'll see.
